Wayne, N.J., October 11, 2016 (Booth #303) – At the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), The Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. will showcase the innovative and comprehensive scope of its endoscopic imaging technologies and solutions for gastrointestinal applications. Fujifilm will also highlight the newest addition to its pioneering Double Balloon Endoscopy (DBE) platform and the Advanced Endoscopic Platform including FlushKnife and ClutchCutter devices for Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) procedures. ACG 2016 will be held at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 16-18, 2016.

“At Fujifilm we are focused on bringing the most progressive technologies possible to gastroenterologists,” said Keiichi Nagata, President, Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “From our pioneering DBE system to our latest SU-1 Ultrasonic Processors, our objective is to equip today’s practictioners with the tools that make them more productive and help them to improve patient outcomes.”
Approximately 5,000 gastroenterologists and other clinicians are expected to attend ACG 2016, making it an ideal forum for showcasing state-of-the-art gastrointestinal technology solutions. Fujifilm’s portfolio of products are designed to improve the quality of what gastroenterologists can see and do during a procedure — which, in turn, provides increased confidence and a variety of procedural options. The following will be featured at ACG 2016:

Interventional Platform – A showcase of advanced endoscopic technologies for advanced patient states and procedures will be on display at ACG 2016, including the Double Balloon Endoscope, FlushKnife and ClutchCutter devices, ERCP endoscope and Fujifilm EUS endoscopes.

Double Balloon Interactive Station, including the new therapeutic DBE endoscope (EN-580T)  — Fujifilm will feature two Double Balloon Interactive stations for attendees to experience its technology. The company’s new, high-resolution, therapeutic endoscope solution is engineered to unlock access to difficult to reach pathways within the digestive tract. Fujifilm’s EN-580T features a large 3.2mm diameter instrument channel that provides greater suction ability and easier insertion and removal of a balloon catheter. Equipped with a new high-resolution Super CCD image sensor, the EN-580T delivers bright, vivid images. Close focus optics enhances observation capability up to 2mm, enabling more detailed images of the small intestine and less peripheral distortion.

Interactive Advanced Imaging Technologies — Attendees will also have “hands-on” opportunities to explore FUJIFILM’s advanced endoscopic imaging technologies designed to increase visualization, including Flexible spectral Imaging Color Enhancement (FICE) and the clarity and close-focus capabilities of the CMOS imaging 600 Series of FUJIFILM endoscopes.

Interactive Endoscopic Ultrasound Platform (EUS)—With two EUS stations available, ACG 2016 attendees will be able to interactively learn about FUJFILM’s innovative EUS technologies, designed to provide advanced endoscopic diagnostics beyond the GI tract walls—all in a unique compact design. Fujifilm’s ultrasound system, Sonart SU-1 Ultrasonic Processor along with our ultrasonic endoscopes provide excellent diagnostic capabilities.

Inspiring the Next Generation
A major industry event, ACG is also a fitting forum for advancing education and community outreach. In keeping with previous years, Fujifilm will support a technical demonstration of colonoscopy at ACG’s “Careers in Medicine,” an annual high school outreach event that encourages students to consider careers in medicine. Hosted by ACG’s Committee on Minority Affairs and Cultural Diversity, the program will take place on Tuesday, October 18 from 10:45 AM- 12:15 PM at Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“At ACG 2016, we invite GI professionals to interact with our technologies and see for themselves how Fujifilm can assist them in meeting today’s clinical challenges and business demands,” said Kaz Maenosono, Senior Director of Marketing and Product Management, Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc.
