Suspense, Mystery, and Romance Combined in Promising Novel

Former federal government worker Ruth Barrett has published another novel that involves conspiracies—High Jinks in High Places. This novel centers on two different investigators working on a possible case of international espionage.
 
Private investigator Jordan Anderson is hired by the executive secretary of Kingman Corporation’s Director of Operations, who is concerned about what looks, suspiciously, like possible illegal activities going on within the company and fears for her job.  While pursuing the case, Jordan reunites with an acquaintance, George Kilburn, who, unknown to her, is also investigating Kingman Corporation on behalf of a Senate oversight committee.  They find themselves trying to explain how a shipment of highly classified equipment that had been destined for Seattle mysteriously ended up in Afghanistan. They also find that what had been reported as death resulting from a massive heart attack of a disbursement officer was, in fact, murder and must decide if these two events are connected.  Working closely to resolve these mysteries, they find themselves falling in love with each other.
