About the Author

Born in Jamaica, West Indies, Dr. Sharon Smith-Koen moved to the United States in 1970. She attended Grace Gospel Chapel in Harlem for seventeen years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, graduated summa cum laude with a master’s degree in counseling, and pursued a doctoral degree in Biblical counseling. Presently, she is completing a second doctorate in education specializing in higher education at Concordia University. She atarted her second doctorate at Jacksonville Theological Seminary, but decided to switch to Concordia after working as an adjunct professor for several years and enjoying it.
