Shrednado! Attack Your Paper Clutter!

CommonWealth One’s semi-annual free community shredding events help credit union members and the community get their sensitive personal documents shredded and recycled securely, including old tax records, bills, paycheck stubs and more.

SHREDNADO will be hosted at CommonWealth One’s Main Branch in Alexandria, Virginia, at 4875 Eisenhower Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 17, and at the Harrisonburg Regional Branch in Harrisonburg, Virginia, at 42 Terri Drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the same day. This event is free and open to the public.

SHREDNADO attendees will receive a certificate from the Credit Union giving them double the cash rewards if they participate in CommonWealth One’s Team Up and Win fall membership drive.  Attendees who open a new account or refer new members to CommonWealth One will receive $25 upon the new member’s account opening, plus another $25 after Oct. 31. The offer is valid from Sept. 17 through Sept. 24 and is only for SHREDNADO participants.

SHREDNADO participants may visit www.TeamUpandWin.org and use promo code SHARK to open an account online with this offer or refer a new member, or present the certificate at any CommonWealth One branch. Complete details are available at www.TeamUpandWin.org .
The most recent CommonWealth One Shred Day was in April 2016 where community members disposed of 30,000 pounds of documents with the help of H&R Contractors in Harrisonburg, VA and Safeguard Shredding in Alexandria, VA.

On Saturday, September 17, the credit union is increasing capacity with two shred trucks at each location. Our SHREDNADO partner companies ask that participants bring only loose paper and avoid binders, binder clips, checkbooks and any electronics. Attendees are allowed five boxes of paper to shred.

CommonWealth One staff will be at both locations to personally assist members and the public with disposing of their materials. Branch Managers and staff will also be available to answer questions about mortgages, auto loans, checking and savings accounts, online account opening, and e-Services, including Mobile Web Banking and Text Banking as well as other financial products and services.
