Author Lupita Samuels has published a book, entitled Think Folks Are Too Light? Think Again! Is White “Too White?” It was featured at the 2016 AJC Decatur Book Festival, the largest independent book festival in the United States. The event was held from September 2 to 4, at 101 E. Court Square in Decatur, Georgia.

Lupita Samuels was born in Costa Rica. She earned her bachelor’s degree from New York University and obtained her master’s degree at Bank Street College of Education. She has taught in the New York City public school system for over twenty years.
