David Glenwinkel of Village Care Honored for his Philanthropy

Auburn, CA – WEBWIRE

David Glenwinkel has received a true philanthropist award for his work that has helped countless individuals and families across the world. As part of David Glenwinkel’s Village Care International, he implemented a revolutionary concept to help the needy and poor communities in Africa. David also instituted several programs to help secure clean and running water, along with food supplies and essential medicines for the sick and impoverished.

Over his years as a member of countless humanitarian aid and charitable associations, David realized something was very wrong in the system. How can billions of dollars in aid to Africa have little to no impact on the communities it is supposed to help?

With this in mind, David took a different approach to helping African communities in need. In fact, he devised a program that was far different than other traditional and failing aid programs. His programs -- under David Glenwinkel Village Care International -- were designed to be hand ups and not handouts. His radical and out of the box approach would empower struggling African villages and communities to utilize the resources they had without dependence on humanitarian aid. So successful was this program that it helped over 800 communities in 10 countries. David realized that conventional African aid programs were failures at best -- and sadly -- many of them were not kosher due to politics, greed, and corruption.

The Village Care’s program is called OPOS -- which is also known as Outcomes Practices and Open Space. This program identified the underlying causes of African poverty and struggles -- namely colonial, cultural, and historical issues -- along with failures in direct aid and outside support. The program also exposed the susceptibilities and vulnerabilities of impoverished Africans -- and sadly -- how unscrupulous organizations and African leaders took advantage of that.

This program not only provides fiscal aid, infrastructure, and a better way of life for many African communities, it also empowers them to become independent and shed the shackles of foreign aid and assistance. So successful is the program that it has helped countless families repair their villages, while working in unity to take advantage of the resources at hand to build a better tomorrow and future.
