TestAmerica to Present Webinar on Incremental Sampling Methodology

North Canton, OH – WEBWIRE

TestAmerica, the leader in environmental testing, announces the next installment in its innovative Ask the Expert webinar series.  The presentation, led by TestAmerica expert Dr. Mark Bruce, will address the increasingly popular topic of Incremental Sampling Methodology (ISM), and will be presented on Tuesday, September 13 at 1:30 EDT.
ISM is a composite sampling and processing technique that provides a mean concentration estimate of a chemical for the volume of soil being sampled at a site. ISM is being used more frequently to characterize heterogeneous sites because it reduces data variability and increases sampling representativeness. ISM is also commonly referred to as Multi-Incremental SamplingTM (MIS) and Incremental Composite Sampling (ICS).
Dr. Bruce has more than 35 years of analytical chemistry experience.  He has been actively involved with the ITRC committee for ISM, and he is a recipient of the ITRC Industry Recognition Award for his contributions.  Dr. Bruce’s webinar, entitled Driving ISM Laboratory Processing Selection with Project Goals, will discuss some of the sample processing options available to clients using ISM techniques, including disaggregation, sieving, milling, sample splitting and subsampling.  He will also present several case studies to illustrate the importance of developing clear data quality objectives when selecting laboratory processing options.
Since 2003, TestAmerica has been at the forefront of the evaluation and implementation of ISM.  Starting in 2009, TestAmerica participated with the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Counsel (ITRC) in the development of its ISM technical and regulatory guidance, and continues as one of the ITRC ISM trainers. TestAmerica provides a single source solution for ISM processing and analytical support.  We offer detailed, technical support in the evaluation of ISM options, comprehensive ISM sample processing, and comprehensive organic and inorganic laboratory testing services.
TestAmerica’s Ask the Expert program provides unmatched access to a nationally recognized panel of more than 30 experts in the environmental field.  For more information on the program, or to register for the upcoming Driving ISM Laboratory Processing Selection with Project Goals webinar, please visit
