Image3D is making it possible for customers to design and order their custom RetroViewer 3D photo reels and viewers anywhere and anytime with  the ability to do so on any mobile device. “So many people use their camera phones and the built-in cameras on their tablets exclusively now, and a lot of our customers access the website from their Android and Apple phones or tablets. We thought it’d be a great idea put the two together, and now customers can make their RetroViewer on any device,” said Rich Dubnow, founder and president of Image3D. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to enjoy our product. If our customers are happy, we’re happy.”

Until recently, Image3D customers needed to first download their photos to a desktop computer in order to upload them to Image3D’s RetroViewer website. Taking out this extra step streamlines the process for them. Also, customers can now access the website from anywhere, upload their photos, and create their custom photo reels directly from their mobile devices. “I could be sitting on the beach on vacation, go online, build a reel and have it waiting for me to show my friends my vacation pictures when I get home,” Dubnow said of the new mobile-friendly interface.

In 2014 mobile Internet users surpassed desktop users, with US users now spending 60 percent of their Internet time on mobile devices. The first thing most consumers do when they hear about a new business or product is to research it online, so developing a mobile-friendly website has never been more important for businesses large and small that want to stay relevant in an increasingly Internet-connected economy. Image3D saw the need to keep up with its customers, and provide them this service. Results from beta testing have shown a marked increase in orders from mobile devices and positive feedback from users.

This upgrade makes it even easier to make use of those thousands of photos left in digital limbo on smartphones and computers. With a few simple clicks, customers can upload their photos, edit and add text and have a custom reel and viewer ordered and on its way in no time.
Features of the mobile-friendly site include:

  • Fully interactive website with user-friendly reel building tool
  • Ability to upload photos directly from mobile devices
  • Ability to take pictures and upload them while in the reel builder
  • Same photo and text editing abilities as on a desktop computer

Founded in 1997 by Rich Dubnow, former head photographer for View-Master*, Image3D launched its consumer-side website in 2012. In 2016 it rebranded the custom viewer and reels the RetroViewer, which it is planning to release in stores in winter 2016.
