EMSL Indianapolis Laboratory Receives AIHA Accreditation for Respirable Silica by XRD

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is proud to announce that its Indianapolis laboratory has added another testing service under its American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Accreditation Program (IHLAP). EMSL Indianapolis has been approved for X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analytical technique and is now certified for silica testing through NIOSH 7500 and OSHA ID-142 methods.

Through the AIHA accreditation program, EMSL (Laboratory ID: 157245) is in compliance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 policies and procedures along with offering high-quality testing services to clients and future partners. Under AIHA IHLAP, EMSL Indianapolis is accredited for Gas Chromatography (GC/FID), Ion Chromatography (IC), Liquid Chromatography (HPLC/UV), Atomic Absorption (CVAA), Inductively-Coupled Plasma (ICP/AES), Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) and Gravimetric industrial hygiene matrices.

“Our Indianapolis laboratory continues to work hard to expand their accreditations through the AIHA’s laboratory accreditation programs,” said Robert DeMalo, M.Sc., Senior Vice President of Laboratory Services and Business Development at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “With this new accreditation, EMSL can better serve industrial hygiene analytical needs throughout Indiana and its surrounding states.”

EMSL Indianapolis is also an AIHA approved laboratory environmental lead (ELLAP) and environmental microbiology (EMLAP) testing services. The laboratory is AIHA ELPAT proficient for paint chips, soil and dust wipes along with AIHA EMPAT proficient for bacteria and fungi testing. Indianapolis is one of 15 EMSL laboratories that earned CDC ELITE certification for Legionella testing services.

In addition, the laboratory is National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accredited for air and bulk asbestos fiber analysis. In addition, EMSL Indianapolis is American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) accredited for food chemistry testing services.
