Thanks to the extensive coverage of the Olympic games in Rio, and the athletes’ extracurricular exploits, more and more people are interested in hearing what they’re doing and which song is playing when they’re dancing and hooking up.
 
Whenever there is a new Olympics, interest usually increases in following the antics and buying the songs loved by their favorite athletes, so as to feel like they’re part of the Olympic experience.
 
Recent Google search trends indicate more and more people searching for terms such as “Olympic Party Songs,” “Song of the Summer,” and  “Best Olympic Hook Up Song.”
 
“Seeing an increased interest in the song ‘Brown Eyed Boy’ is no surprise, as the beginning of the Olympics triggers this type of interest,” said Chris Cannon, an expert in music trends. “Combine the Olympics with the official beginning of rowdy fun in Brazil and you’re sure to see a lot of people wanting to buy the same song the athlete’s are singing in Rio’s Olympic village.” 
 
Cannon, who recently reviewed over 50 top summer songs by applying all the formulaic elements of a Billboard hit, speculates: “‘Brown Eyed Boy’ has all of the hit song elements. It’s an upbeat cover of Van Morrison’s ‘Brown Eyed Girl.’  It’s danceable, has the suggestive lyrics all flings like to flirt about and most of all, as the singer Kerrie says: ‘it is very sing-along-able.’”
 
While a summer fling is spontaneous, unpredictable and passionate, throw in 10,500 sexy, toned, horny athletes and 450,000 condoms, an upbeat, flirty, fun song, an abundance of brown eyed guys, and millions of admirers who mimic their role models’ actions - and you end up with millions of lovers who’ll always remember their 2016 summer fling with a smile whenever they hear Kerrie’s song “Brown Eyed Boy.”
