Author Republishes Enlightening Book with LitFire

Oneness: A Call to Honor God in the Marriage Relationship details what marriage is supposed to be and how it is being destroyed by selfishness. The book’s author, Dean Schendel, takes into account his own experience with divorce and what the scripture has to say.

Schendel carefully reiterates the adverse disintegration of married life from the sweet and glorious wedding day, to the detachment brought by problems, and then to the thought of divorce. He believes that selfishness accounts for these relational issues and that Jesus Christ is the only solution. In this book, he reminds spouses of the necessity of having a relationship with Christ as well.

According to Schendel, Oneness is inspired by God’s design for matrimony, which is “to make couples aware of God’s role and [the couple’s] role in the marriage relationship.” He also elaborates on how God makes use of marriage to make people more like Him. The book calls on the church to follow God in the marriage covenant and encourages couples to be one with God.
