About the Author

Jeffrey R. Funk is a board certified chaplain (BCC) and executive director of Healthcare Chaplains Ministry Association (HCMA). He has facilitated a cancer support group, a COPD support group, and grief support groups. He has also worked as a hospital chaplain, corporate chaplain, police chaplain, and a chaplain with the Boy Scouts. He teaches a pastoral care and chaplaincy course at the Talbot School of Theology. He has been married for forty years and is a father of five, including an adopted son with chronic medical and mental illness issues.
