Social Selling Pioneer Legacy Republic Appoints New Members to Advisory Board to Tackle $56 Billion Memory Preservation Industry

New board members bring decades of expertise in photo preservation, community building and employee engagement from Walgreens and Yelp

Santa Clara, CA – WEBWIRE

Legacy Republic, the only mission-driven company that combines the power of social selling with preserving and re-living family legacies, today announced new family additions of their own. Former Walgreens executive Mona Kelly and Yelp’s former VP of People, Cindy Mesaros, join Legacy Republic’s Executive Advisory Board. Mona and Cindy bring more than six decades of combined experience in photo preservation and community building to Legacy Republic as the company sets out to save an estimated two billion video and photo album memories at risk of loss across the country.

“As we rapidly scale Legacy Republic, Cindy and Mona join the team to lend invaluable expertise in large-scale photo and personalized gift operations, digital marketing and communications,” said Brian Knapp, President of Legacy Republic. “We deliberately recruited executives whose backgrounds further Legacy Republic’s commitment to Legacy Makers — the independent consultants that make up the very backbone of our company — as they work toward developing their businesses.”

Legacy Republic has shown impressive growth since launching in October 2014 with more than 700 independent consultants called “Legacy Makers” in 42 states.

Mona Kelly brings more than 40 years of experience in photofinishing and nationwide retail operations. During her work at Eckerd Drugs (purchased by Jean Coutu and CVS), she helped to develop the first generation of one-hour photo labs in retail drugstores and served as the vice president of photo finishing. She joined Walgreens in 2004 as divisional merchandise manager of photo finishing. She was then promoted to general merchandise manager in 2009, responsible for photo finishing operations and marketing as well as front end services with sales responsibilities exceeding $1.5B annually.

Mona now operates a boutique consulting firm, Mona F. Kelly and Associates, which focuses on advising innovative companies in the imaging and personalized gifting industries. When she began to consult, Mona’s desire was to work with “best in class” companies, so joining Legacy Republic’s Executive Advisory Board  was a natural fit.

Cindy Mesaros is a consumer marketing executive, most recently serving as VP of Marketing at We Heart It, the social image-sharing platform with 40MM members. Prior to that, Cindy co-founded mobile ad targeting platform Metaresolver, which was acquired by Millennial Media, and mobile content company Moderati, acquired by Bellrock Media. In 2009-2010, she also acted as the VP of People for Yelp to drive corporate culture and employee engagement.

Cindy holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in business administration from the Haas school at U.C. Berkeley.

Mona and Cindy join Legacy Republic’s existing Executive Advisory Board which includes Genevieve Skory, Mark Bosworth and Allison Williams. Genevieve Skory shares years of passion in memory preservation for families and brings extensive experience in the direct sales industry. Most recently, Genevieve served as director of field development at Matilda Jane Clothing and vice president of sales and training at Vivi. Before that she was Vice president of sales and marketing at Ahni & Zoe by Creative Memories, where she specialized in developing and implementing strategies and creative approaches to driving sales success.

Mark brings decades of experience in the direct selling industry to Legacy Republic, having held executive positions with Tupperware, PartyLite, SwissJust, and The Body Shop. Allison Williams founded Yarly, a photo preservation direct sales company, in 2012, which was later acquired by Legacy Republic, and is now the COO of SamyRoad, a global spotlight for rising creators.
