A Book on Life’s Cruel Side to Be Displayed in Ohio
Dr. Rosalie H. Contino Releases Her Latest Book Entitled “Underground Stories” that Explores Human Thought and Emotion
“Underground Stories is published for teen to adult readers especially those who are lovers of poetry, short stories, and fiction… It will feed their curious minds with thoughts and inspirations for life.”
What makes readers linger on to stories? Is it because of the presence of the elements in the story? Or is it because of the style the story was written? Find out the reason through Dr. Rosalie H. Contino’s anthology of poetry and short stories.
Underground Stories is a collection of selected writings by various authors. It is heavily grounded with themes capturing the meaning of life in times of war, the power of love under a totalitarian state, and the attachment people make with places, things, or events, and how that attachment influences their relationships and decision-making.
Collectively, these literary works play with the imagination and emotion of every reader. They entitle readers to an emotional game of expectations, disappointments, prejudices, imperfections, imprisonment, freedom, innocence, happiness, thrill, and anxiety. Likewise, they offer powerful insights that enable readers to relate and reflect on their lives. This connection between readers and the stories they read is affirmed by neuroscientist Gregory Berns who found out in a study that, “Stories shape our lives and in some cases help define a person.”
Inspired to share the collected pieces, Dr. Contino awakens imagination and creativity. Moreover, she recommends the book for teen to adult readers. She stated, “Underground Stories is published for teen to adult readers especially those who are lovers of poetry, short stories, and fiction… It will feed their curious minds with thoughts and inspirations for life.”
Underground Stories will be featured in the 2015 American Association of School Libraries which will be held on November 5-7, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio. You can check out the book along with several materials during the whole event.
