James P. Beran is the youngest son of Walter F. Beran. Born in 1953 in San Antonio Texas, he is a graduate of UCLA. In his younger days he worked in politics, serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lt. Governor of California and in various positions in the Reagan/Bush administration. He is a serial entrepreneur involved in a range of businesses and projects. He is also a cancer survivor. He wrote the book because not only was his father his hero, “he was the greatest man he ever knew,” which is no small statement.
