She states, “Vic constantly told me about Barney and other animals—who all had a real personality—that also lived on the Brewer Farm. I thought Barney would make a great children’s story, so together, Vic and I started to write the book.”

About the Author
Mary Lynn Swiderski spent twenty-five years teaching children as a 4-H educator and nutrition and health educator at the Michigan State University Extension, retiring in June 2014. She studied journalism and family life education. She has always enjoyed creative writing, poetry, books, and music. She finds inspiration in her husband, Vic, who told her stories about his family’s farm.
