OZ Architecture to Design New Rêve Development in Boulder’s Pearl Street District

Denver, CO – WEBWIRE

“OZ Architecture’s plan balances and respects the changing context of the area and accommodates our desire to deliver high quality design.  It will also encourage neighborhood connectivity through the incorporation of open space and an integrated community interaction.”

OZ Architecture, an award-winning, national architecture and design firm, was selected by Southern Land Company to lead the design and planning of Rêve, a transformative new mixed-use development in Boulder, Colo. Located at 30th and Pearl Streets, Rêve is set in Boulder’s evolving, pedestrian-friendly Boulder Junction neighborhood on east Pearl Parkway and will offer a wide range of living, office and retail options intertwined with open space and a dynamic reimagining of the Boulder Slough.

The design, created by OZ Architecture and recently approved by Boulder’s Planning Board and City Council, will include four buildings across a six-acre site, with a linear park along the Boulder Slough.  It features 244 diverse residential options – ranging from 500 square foot efficiency units to 3,000 square foot town homes – street-level retail, live/work space, hi-tech offices, ample open space and bike paths. With a Whole Foods across the street, the popular 29th Street Mall nearby, and a new Google campus planned in the area, Rêve will serve as a complementary addition to this rapidly changing area of Boulder.

“Rêve is a multidimensional project that will enable more people to embrace a car-free lifestyle in this thriving east Boulder neighborhood,” said Kelly Davis, principal at OZ Architecture. “OZ Architecture has been in Boulder for 50 years so we understand first-hand the importance of integrating Rêve into the existing cityscape and incorporating the essential components that will help maintain Boulder’s quality of life: from walkability and trails, to access to public transportation, and proximity to a variety of interesting cultural, retail and dining choices.”

Michael McNally, Senior Vice President for Southern Land Company says, “OZ Architecture’s plan balances and respects the changing context of the area and accommodates our desire to deliver high quality design.  It will also encourage neighborhood connectivity through the incorporation of open space and an integrated community interaction.”
