When we’re born into this world, we don’t get to choose the circumstance we’re born into. We’re simply set out to live and deal with what we have – our family, our looks, etc.

When we’re born into this world, we don’t get to choose the circumstance we’re born into. We’re simply set out to live and deal with what we have – our family, our looks, etc.

Robert Contino’s mild schizophrenia was one circumstance his entire family had to deal with. Rosalie Contino, Robert’s sister, took care of him when he was at his lowest. He was laid off by a company he served for forty years. The 61-year-old disabled man, after four decades of service, was laid off like a dispensable thing.

Rosalie was heartbroken. And to her surprise, that was only the beginning. It was only the tip of the iceberg. Her brother’s suffering was like a series of lights that lit off one after another. When she noticed her brother’s limps, she had him physically examined. To her dismay, the doctors found several ailments that were even fatal.

As Life Goes On is a tear-jerking story about how the siblings weathered their storms. Rosalie, who loved her brother so much, postponed her plans to take care of her brother.

What’s more heartbreaking than realizing how your plans and your lives are forced into a standstill is realizing how everything and everyone else’s lives continue to move, completely unaffected and unscather by your tragedies.

Life seems unfair and relentless. But for these siblings, no matter what they experienced, they chose to make the most out of what they were given.

As Life Goes On opens your eyes to several realities about life. It can be short, and riddled with suffering. But, you can always choose to live a great life, no matter how few the years you are given.
