TSMC Holds 2006 Supply Chain Management Forum and Recognizes Outstanding Suppliers

Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C. – September 14, 2006 – TSMC today held its 2006 Supply Chain Management (SCM) Forum, inviting key suppliers from around the world to share the achievements of TSMC’s supply chain collaboration model. TSMC also recognized outstanding suppliers with “best equipment” and “best materials” awards in thanks for their support and contributions over the past year.

The theme of this year’s forum was “Commitment to Future Success”, and in a keynote address, TSMC President and CEO Dr. Rick Tsai said: “Our close partnership with suppliers, and their stalwart support over the long term, are an indispensable part of TSMC’s leading position in the semiconductor industry. TSMC has always strived for the most advanced technologies while offering a wide array of processes, and all these efforts need support from our equipment and materials suppliers. We aim to continue working towards common goals with our suppliers, and also hope to make our technical cooperation even better through close communication, so that together we can enjoy the competitive advantages of strong supply chain management.”

More than 350 companies in the fields of equipment, materials, packaging, testing, facility, IT, export/import services, and environmental and waste management services participated in the forum. TSMC recognized seven participants with “best equipment” awards and four participants with “best materials” awards. The winners of the awards are as follows:
