Stories from the World War II and After, Exposed

Having grown up in war-torn Germany, Christel Bresko has an interesting story to tell.

She originally published her book, Mother, if in Heaven there are No Apples, I Don’t Want to Go There, in 2003. It talks about what life was like during World War II for her and her family, as well as her life after the war.

Her story shows a different side of history and it has touched her readers’ lives. A review on Amazon said, “I very much enjoyed reading Mrs. Bresko’s book. It gives glimpses of life during and after World War II, revealing the hardships (and times of joy) that were not included in history books, nor taught in history class at school.” (Ruth H.)

The widely acclaimed book has been republished by LitFire Publishing last November.

Christel Bresko grew up in Germany during the time of World War II. Despite having lived a difficult childhood, she fulfilled her dream to become a nurse. She traveled and worked in many parts of the globe. Now retired, she spends her time writing and traveling. She currently lives in America with her husband.
