Independent author Bill Hart released the first installment of his two-book series, Maryland, in October 2015. The first book is entitled Lord Baltimore’s Dream, which tells the story of how and why the colony was founded.

With the help of the self-publishing company and marketing service provider, LitFire Publishing LLC, paperback copies of the book are now available for online purchase.

The 7-chapter book features a set of fictional characters, the Kerr family, living in the actual events that occurred in the history of Maryland. “It provides insight into how those events were perceived by those who experienced them, and how those events impacted their lives,” says the author in the book. While the Kerr family is fictional, the events and historical figures mentioned in the book are all factual.

Hart used the stories that have been passed down through generations in his family as the bases for this historical fiction book. It is relatively new in the market, but is expected to start gaining a readership in the coming months.

Digital versions of the book will soon be made available in online bookstores. The second book of the series has yet to be released.

About the Author

Bill Hart has lived his entire life in and around Baltimore, Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his MBA from the University of Baltimore. After a thirty-seven-year career at McCormick and Company as VP of Global Information Technology, he became an entrepreneur owning several internet-based businesses as well as a securities trader. He decided to write a book about the history of Maryland and the impact both Maryland and Baltimore made in the development of the United States.
