New BWWM Romance Website Brings Books Like “50 Shades of Grey” And Romance Novel Excerpts To The Spotlight

Indie published interracial romance author Jamila Jasper has just launched her website www.jamilajasperromance.com, featuring romance novel excerpts from different kinds of BWWM books, including books similar to “50 Shades of Grey,” dark romance books and romantic comedy novels.

Jamila Jasper is passionate about bringing diversity and representation to the world of interracial romance. Whereas most publicized interracial couples feature black men and white women, Jamila’s books are exclusively between black women and white men. The goal of this website is to expand upon the availability of well written interracial fiction featuring developed black female characters that defy stereotypes.

In the romance novel excerpts featured on her website, Ms. Jasper brings characters to life from a variety of different backgrounds. Her main heroines include Afro-Caribbean women, wealthy black women, hardworking older women and even women with major disabilities.

When asked what inspires her to write these characters, Ms. Jasper responded: “I want to bring the full spectrum of color to life. I want to write about women like me. I want to write about women who remind me of my mother and grandmother, and show that we too are deserving of true love.”

Ms. Jasper’s website was launched in late March; she’s been able to feature romance novel excerpts not just from her own novels but from other black female authors like Raven Ferrari — a romantic comedy novelist — and from Orlena James, a West Indian short story writer. Another one of Ms. Jasper’s goals with her website is to start popularizing audiobooks. Ms. Jasper also plans to work with other interracial fiction authors in the future to create a hub for interracial fiction that is diverse and accessible.
