Amber MacArthur Joins Toronto’s "CityNews" and CP24 as New Media Specialist

September 14, 2006 -- (Toronto, ON) - Stephen Hurlbut, Vice-President, News Programming, Citytv and Vice-President and General Manager, CP24, is pleased to announce Amber MacArthur has joined “CityNews” and CP24 as New Media Specialist. Amber will report for Citytv and CP24 on new media and interactive trends, as well as new technology, and will act as Host and Producer of a weekly program that will cover pop/technical culture on CP24 beginning in October.

CityNews/CP24 are positioned to be primary news providers on multiple delivery platforms 24/7. Originally from Charlottetown, PEI, Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dalhousie University and a post-graduate degree in Journalism from the University of King’s College. Amber has honed her media and technology skills in San Francisco and Boston as Director of Web Marketing at HigherMarkets, where she managed corporate branding initiatives, software usability and online course development.

As Writer and Branding Strategist at Razorfish San Francisco, she developed online content and usability strategies, in addition to judging The Webby Awards 2000, where she analyzed and rated more than 100 websites. Most recently, Amber worked for G4techTV, a digital television channel entirely devoted to technology. There she co-hosted “Gadgets and Gizmos”, reviewing the newest technical gadgets, “Call For Help” a technology help program and “Torrent” , an Internet culture show for technology advanced audiences. She also co-hosted “Commandn”, a vidcast which covered online and offline technology trends.

Amber’s appointment is effective immediately.
