School Children Help Sick Kids Like Magic

Almost as fast as you can say “Abra-KID-Abra,” the students at Little Flower Catholic School, 905 Kentucky Ave., San Antonio, TX, raised some much-appreciated money for the Lone Star Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and got a cool magical souvenir as well.

Ventriloquist and comedy magician Joe Libby presented his CAUSES FOR LAUGHTER family show at Little Flower on March 2, 2016, to raise money for the school’s field trip fund. But in addition to helping the school, it also raised some funds and awareness for kids with cystic fibrosis.

 “I am so excited with the results of this family-friendly program,” says Libby. “CAUSES FOR LAUGHTER is a program designed to motivate and inspire students while financially benefiting the schools. But at the show, I also sell a pocket-sized magic tricks booklet as a souvenir. It only costs $1.00, but I let the audience know that that money goes directly to the CF Foundation.”

“This is an awesome idea,” says Hugh Farr, Executive Director of the Lone Star Chapter. “It makes the point with the kids that even a small amount like a dollar, when combined with other dollars, can do a lot of good.”
