Spotlight Analytics extends MHDC’s leadership by equipping health care organizations, large and small, with robust and accessible analytics at a fraction of the cost of commercial offerings.

The Massachusetts Health Data Consortium (MHDC) today announced the release of the first full upgrade of its flagship health data analysis solution, Spotlight Analytics.

Spotlight Analytics 2 provides web-based access to pre-built “dashboards” that provide users with highly customizable market share, patient origin, disease prevalence, and organizational performance analyses. Additionally, Spotlight Analytics 2 includes a custom report generator that supports user-defined analyses of numerous data dimensions. Spotlight analytics incorporates six (6) years of Massachusetts case mix data licensed from the Center for Health Information and Analysis. These data comprise all of the state’s hospitals’ inpatient, observation, and emergency department encounters. These de-identified encounter records include demographic, diagnostic, and financial data.

“For 38 years, MHDC has been the leader in providing health data and analyses to the Commonwealth,” said Denny Brennan, MHDC’s Executive Director. “Spotlight Analytics extends that leadership by equipping health care organizations, large and small, with robust and accessible analytics at a fraction of the cost of commercial offerings.”
