More than 5000 HardysHero fans have amassed and indicated their intent to participate in the biggest duty free celebration of South Australian Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon and sample Hardys THE JOURNEY.

For the next 33 days, travellers arriving and departing Sydney International Airport can take part in a celebration of wine and travel and awaken their inner #HardysHero.

Passengers departing with Etihad, Emirates, Air New Zealand, Qantas and Virgin Australia and all Asian carriers will be able to raise their glasses in a toast to the spirit of Thomas Hardy, who founded Hardys in 1853 and Eileen Hardy, the grand dame of the Hardys wine dynasty for her contribution to the elevation of Australian wine at the global scale. Wine tastings will be held daily in the Australian wine section of Heinemann Tax & Duty-Free store at Sydney International Airport and more than 5,000 wine connoisseurs have downloaded the exclusive digital Boarding Pass invitation.

Passengers in departures will have a chance to sample the exclusive THE JOURNEY Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon blended by Hardys and sold exclusively in duty-free.  For those unsure of which Hardys rare and fine wine best suits their palate a wine profiling quiz game was created to personalise travellers wine experience during the March celebrations at HardysHero.com.

Those passionate about South Australian wines and travel can also enter the HardysHero Sweepstakes to win one of 730 prizes.  The grand prize of a luxurious wine tasting weekend for two inclusive of domestic airfares, accommodation, meals, a helicopter tour of Adelaide’s wine region, a private tour and tasting at Hardys Tintara cellar door, and two app-connected Bluesmart roll-a-board suitcases will be announced on April 4, 2016.

The activation has been developed collaboratively between the Hardys team and deployed by Mighty Media Group in Sydney.  “We’re delighted that so many have elected to participate in this celebration of wine at Sydney International over the next few months and want to share THE JOURNEY. It is easy to see how more than 2 million glasses of Hardys fine wines are being enjoyed every day around the world,” said Stephenie Rodriguez, CEO of Mighty Media Group Pty Ltd.
