Texas Heritage Protection Announces 2016 Primary Endorsements

List includes both incumbents and challengers from both political parties

Austin, TX – WEBWIRE

Today, the leaders of Texas Heritage Protection (THP) announced their endorsements for the 2016 March 1st Republican and Democrat Primaries. The list includes both incumbents and challengers and represents those who the group believes will be the best stewards for our state’s vast natural resources in the coming 85th Texas Legislature.

Launched by Texans Dr. Robert Brandes, Jack Stowe, and Jerry James, Texas Heritage Protection is working with citizens and lawmakers to help safeguard the air we breathe, the water we drink and the wildlife and natural systems that sustain our life on earth by promoting responsible stewardship of the land and our state’s unique natural resources and encouraging common-sense, science based solutions to curtail litter, safeguard our environment, and help keep Texas clean.

The group’s endorsements include leaders from both political parties and cross the ideological divide. While THP is primarily a conservative leaning organization, its leaders do not believe that protecting our environment is an issue that belongs to either political party or any particular ideology.

Based upon our unique vetting process that includes a questionnaire and a review of voting records, public statements, and campaign materials, THP’s members are confident that the leaders that have been selected to carry their endorsement will join them in elevating public awareness about the growing litter problem in our state and in helping keep Texas clean by educating their fellow Texans about the high cost of litter, as well as the economic development and increased tourism opportunities that come with litter abatement and preserving our state’s natural beauty and unique heritage.

THP’s leaders are asking the people of Texas to join with them in supporting these common-sense leaders at the ballot box. Texans have a long history of preserving our natural environment and being good wildlife and land resource managers. THP looks forward to working with their endorsed candidates in encouraging more and more Texans to be responsible stewards of the state we love and call home and to help others do the same.
