The protagonist will face a moral dilemma when he finds out the inhumane methods of the Phoenix.
Frank Waldeigh’s book, Phoenix Mistress, is a historical novel that takes readers back to the Vietnam War and America’s participation in it.
This book features the secret CIA operation called the Phoenix Program. A computer scientist accepts the post as senior intelligence analyst for what he thought was just an American computer company. What he doesn’t know is the company’s involvement with the US Army, and the true nature of his job. The protagonist will face a moral dilemma when he finds out the inhumane methods of the Phoenix.
As an informative book, it shares a rarely accounted side of the war in Saigon, packed with suspense and conspiracies. Phoenix Mistress is recommended for the war survivors and veterans, and “anyone who would have an interest in this period of America’s military involvement in the controversial war,” according to an Amazon reviewer.
This book was featured at the 2015 Guadalajara Book Fair, which was held last November 26 until December 6.
