Texas Right to Life Endorses Jeff Judson in race against Speaker Joe Straus

Texas’ oldest and most respected Pro-Life organization says Joe Straus’ failed record in defense of human life disqualifies him from holding high political office

"Jeff Judson offers commitment to Pro-Life principles and will be a real voice for those who believe in protecting the most vulnerable Texans."

Texas Right to Life PAC has endorsed Jeff Judson for Texas State House Representative in District 121.

“Texas Right to Life is confident Jeff Judson’s unflinching desire to protect the pre-born, pregnant moms, the disabled, sick, and elderly will be reflected in his advocacy in the Texas House,” said Emily Cook, Political Director of Texas Right to Life.  ”Jeff Judson offers commitment to Pro-Life principles and will be a real voice for those who believe in protecting the most vulnerable Texans.“

“I am truly grateful for the just-announced endorsement of my candidacy by Texas Right to Life PAC,” said Judson. “There would be no greater honor in Austin than to defend the helpless baby boys and baby girls from abortion. I am unapologetically pro-life! I believe that the child in the womb should be protected from the moment of conception. My pro-life convictions flow out of my Biblical worldview.  Unlike the rest of creation, we are created in God’s image, and because of that, worthy of the highest protection. Abortion is not just an affront to the child who is killed, but to her Creator in whose image she was formed.”

Emily Cook of Texas Right to Life went on to contrast Judson’s genuine pro-life stand with liberal Republican incumbent Joe Straus by saying, ”Unlike the incumbent, Jeff is not merely interested in political cover or Pro-Life show votes to protect his reputation.”

Specifically speaking, Straus voted for third-trimester abortions in 2005, received a 100% rating from the National Abortion Rights Action League in 2007, and Straus received $1,000 from Planned Parenthood in 2008. No wonder Planned Parenthood thanked him for his “tireless work” in 2009 after he became House Speaker. More recently, Straus, as House Speaker through his liberal committee chair appointments, did not allow a single pro-life bill to come to the House floor for a vote during the 2013 Regular Session.

Texas Right to Life is just the latest in a series of endorsements Jeff Judson has received from prominent and well respected conservative organizations and leaders.
