Presidential Candidate of the Democratic Republic of Congo Bernard Katompa to Address Pan African iXChange Empowerment Summit on February 25

Johannesburg, South Africa – WEBWIRE

Acclaimed entrepreneur, philanthropist and candidate for the Presidency of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Bernard Katompa has been invited and indeed has accepted with pleasure the designation of dais orator at the 2016 Pan African iXChange Empowerment Summit at the Marriott West Loop Galleria Hotel in Houston, Texas, to be held on the 25th of February.

The evidence is clear - According to the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 73% of working women in the DRC are farmers, representing 50% of that country’s agricultural workforce. Despite these staggering figures, so critical to the quality of life in this emerging marketplace, there are still lingering legal and societal constraints with regard to the treatment and prospects for success with such a populous and dynamic sect within the DRC, yet another facet of the nation’s endowed natural resources in human capital and from it, potential.

Participating alongside Ndileka Mandela and Speaker of Parliament of Mozambique, H.E. Veronica Macamo, Monsieur Bernard Katompa will further his stewardship role in promoting the multifaceted opportunities for gender equality and empowerment, fortifying the importance of buttressing women’s access to knowledge and participation in the decision making process behind the DRC’s trajectory.

The movement that Monsieur Katompa champions, that of the Génération Déterminée (Determined Generation), seeks to raise awareness to and will indeed highlight in Houston the importance of women in the workforce and socioeconomy today while spotlighting the multitude of solutions readily available for better business in the DRC, no doubt accomplished through greater norms of equality.

Following the Presidential candidate’s formal address, he will participate in a question and answer session with attendees and welcomes all recommendations and the sharing of ideas to the betterment of the Congolese at home, in the Diaspora and to those acquainting themselves with the opportunities abundant in the DRC.
