Atlanta Laboratory Receives CDC ELITE Certification for Legionella Testing
EMSL Analytical, Inc. recognizes its Atlanta laboratory for receiving CDC ELITE Certification.
EMSL Analytical, Inc. is proud to announce that its Atlanta laboratory received CDC ELITE certification for Legionella testing. With the addition of the Atlanta location, EMSL now has 11 CDC ELITE laboratories within its network of facilities across North America.
“EMSL is continually working to increase the number of EMSL labs which are CDC ELITE certified,” said Diane Miskowski, MPH, Legionella Program Manager at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “There has been an increased demand for regional Legionella testing locations across the country. This is a result of the recent passage of ASHRAE 188 for preventing legionellosis in building water systems along with the outbreaks in cities like New York. These events have stressed the importance of having a Legionella Water Safety Plan and validating that plan by doing Legionella testing. EMSL has several labs in the queue for Legionella certification in 2016.”
Along with Legionella testing, EMSL Atlanta offers testing services for asbestos, food and beverage, indoor air quality (IAQ) and microbiology. EMSL Atlanta is accredited for AIHA EMLAP, AIHA EMPAT for Bacteria and Fungi, A2LA for food testing and NVLAP for Air and Bulk.
