Logic PD Expert to Share How Leveraging Big Data Can Transform a Business at Designers of Things Conference

Minneapolis – WEBWIRE

Logic PD, a complete product lifecycle solutions company for the digital world, today announced that Brian Van Batavia, director of systems engineering, will participate as a speaker at the Designers of Things Conference held December 2-3, 2015 in San Jose, Calif.

At the conference, Van Batavia will share with technology designers and developers a case study of how Geissler Corporation used digital technologies to transform their business from a single-sale product to a full diagnostic service. This session will be held Dec. 2 at 10:45 a.m.

“It’s one thing to talk about using big data and smart, connected products to transform your business model but it is a completely different conversation once you hear how one company actually did it,” explained Van Batavia. “The story of how Geissler Corporation morphed their product from a ‘simple’ medical device into a connected business allows companies to see the transformational impact a digital product strategy has on not only the company itself but also its customers.”

Entitled “Leveraging Big Data to Create a Subscription Business: A Cow’s Story,” Van Batavia’s session will explore the development of the Whisper® Veterinary Stethoscope from both a technology and a business model perspective. By leveraging big data, Logic PD helped Geissler evolve their business from a single-sale product to a monitoring service and finally to data-driven operations to offer customers complete insight into their herd with the ultimate benefit of decreasing Bovine Respiratory Disease by 38% globally.

Key takeaways from Van Batavia’s presentation will include: an overview of the four stages of digital development and an understanding of the value of operationalizing big data as well as tips on how to transform your business model.
