The Purple Purse program works to reduce domestic violence, both through community education and through direct empowerment of those who have been abused.

Vendt Brothers Insurance, a locally owned insurance firm with offices serving Washington D.C., Baltimore, and the surrounding communities, is launching a charity drive in conjunction with the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Program in an effort to provide support for survivors of domestic violence.
Designed to create a safe and secure space for domestic abuse survivors, the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse campaign offers critical services and financial enablement to victims by working with hundreds of organizations across the nation. The program both raises awareness of the issue of domestic violence and offers support that empowers survivors to embrace a brighter future.
“The Purple Purse program works to reduce domestic violence, both through community education and through direct empowerment of those who have been abused,” says Kevin Vendt, owner and principal of Vendt Brothers Insurance. “This program has already changes the lives of countless families, but with domestic violence affecting nearly 25% of the women in our community, there is still much to do.”
The Vendt team plans to promote the Purple Purse campaign over the next two to three months via social media, email, and SMS texting, as well as through their monthly publication, Our Hometown Magazine, which is delivered to thousands of families throughout the DC area. A full page feature of the charity campaign can be found in this month’s issue of the periodical:
