Fujifilm Showcases Innovative Product Line and Presents Forward-View Learning Experience at CHEST 2015

Wayne, N.J., October 19, 2015 (Booth #809) – WEBWIRE

The Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., will feature its latest innovations in providing high-resolution, high-quality medical imaging to pulmonologists. Sonart, Fujifilm’s ultrasound processor in conjunction with the company’s EB-530US ultrasound bronchoscope will be among the products on display at CHEST 2015, the annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians, on October 24-28 in Montréal, Canada.

Fujifilm will also host a presentation by Hans Lee, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine, Interventional Pulmonary at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Lee will present a session titled “Fujifilm EBUS: Seeing is Believing” on his experience with the Fujifilm EB-530US  (Endobronchial Ultrasound System), including a hands-on demonstration. During his presentation, Dr. Lee will discuss Fujfilm’s unique 10 degree forward view as well as other distinguishing features. The presentation will be held on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 28 from 11:30 AM –12:15 PM at the Fujifilm booth.

“Fujifilm’s EB-530US provides the ease and flexibility required for a variety of therapeutic interventions,” said Dr. Lee. “Moreover, the smooth insertion makes for more comfortable exams for patients.”

Medical professionals in the field of pulmonology have recognized performance and high-quality imaging in a compact design as valuable modalities. Fujifilm’s ultrasound processor, Sonart, is equipped with innovative image processing technology called ZONE Sonography™ and Sound Speed Correction Technology that provide excellent diagnostic capabilities. Compact, yet comprehensive, Sonart brings a new approach to endoscopic ultrasound, easily integrating into a slim endoscopic procedure cart with video processor and light source.

For added convenience, the system can be used with the EB-530US ultrasound video bronchoscope. With a distal end outer diameter of 6.7mm, the EB-530US scope is designed to improve maneuverability, insertion capability and physician efficiency. Equipped with high-resolution and ultra-small Super CCD chip technology, this scope offers vivid, high-resolution endoscopic images. Unique design features of the EB-530US include a 10° forward oblique view, dual light guide for even illumination and exceptional bending capability to facilitate targeting of accessories.

“As a leading provider of innovative endoscopic equipment and the host of a progressive educational session, Fujifilm’s overarching goal at CHEST is to help pulmonologists deliver the best possible patient care while improving efficiency of their medical practices,” said Keiichi Nagata, president, Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc.
