Innovative Startups Win Seven SPIFFY Awards at TC3 Summit

From nearly 200 young telecom companies who presented to Telecom Council in the past year, 2015 SPIFFY winners are identified as having ideas, relevance and traction that most appeal to the innovation teams from 50 fixed and wireless carrier members.

The Service Provider Innovation Forum (SPIF) of the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley awarded seven young telecom companies for their innovation, execution, management and technology last night at the Council’s annual SPIFFY Award ceremony, held during the 8th annual TC3 Summit: Telecom Council Carrier Connections. SPIFFY nominees attended the ceremony, joined by 50 global fixed and wireless telcos and over 600 telecom professionals.

SPIF members review startups at Telecom Council meetings several times each month. Competition for these awards is stiff because all startups are screened before they are selected to present to the Telecom Council. All startups who present have already been identified as having ideas, relevance, and traction that most appeal to our carriers from around the globe. 
 
38 nominees from 200 startups were announced in August 2015; and from TC3 here are the winners of the 2015 SPIFFY Awards:

  • The Graham Bell Award for Best Communication Solutions goes to Jolata
  • The Edison Award for Most Innovative Start-Up goes to Indoor Atlas
  • The San Andreas Award for Most Disruptive Technology goes to Zimperium
  • The Core Award for Best Fixed Telecom Opportunity goes to 1 Mainstream
  • The Zephyr Award for Best Mobile Opportunity goes to Pradeo
  • The Ground Breaker Award for Engineering Excellence goes to Parstream
  • The Prodigy Award for the Most Successful SPiF Alumni is Kumu Networks
  • The Fred & Ginger Award for Most Supportive Carrier goes to Sprint
