Logic PD Expands Quality and Regulatory Compliance Team with Addition of Brodie Pedersen

New hire will focus on helping medical device clients through the compliance aspects of product development

Logic PD, a complete product lifecycle solutions company for the digital world, announced today the expansion of its Quality team with the addition of Brodie Pedersen as senior development quality engineer. Pedersen’s expertise in quality and regulatory compliance will support Logic PD’s growing medical device client base.“Emerging technologies, ever-changing regulations, and increased competition create many challenges for the medical product industry,” said Lisa Walker, vice president of product support services at Logic PD. “From concept to manufacturing, our clients look to us to guide them through all phases of medical device development. The addition of Brodie (Pedersen) strengthens our ability to serve existing and new medical device clients.”

As Senior Development Quality Engineer, Pedersen will serve as the primary quality contact within the Design and Engineering organization and will partner with clients to proactively define, guide and monitor the quality assurance and regulatory compliance aspects of product development. Pedersen is also responsible for establishing and maintaining quality management system procedures to assure compliance with ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, DO-254/178 and related standards.
 
A recognized Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) expert, Pedersen brings more than 20 years of experience in medical device quality and regulatory environments to Logic PD. Pedersen joins Logic PD from Nonin Medical, Inc. where he was a Senior Regulatory Engineer. In this position, he successfully secured numerous 510k registrations for medical devices with both software and hardware components. He also has a strong medical device risk management background and has authored risk management SOPs, along with general Product Development and other SOPs for ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 compliance.
 
An active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, he represents the United States on IEC Subcommittee 62A, for Medical Electrical Equipment. Pedersen began his engineering career at TUV SUD America following graduation from North Dakota State University with a degree in electrical engineering.

An Eagle Scout himself, he volunteers his time as Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 610. Pedersen resides in Maple Grove, Minn.
