Lansing, MI – WEBWIRE

We are pleased to release this new video that explains to the public the many ways that CIHs are working to prevent occupational exposure hazards and ways these dedicated professionals help to keep families and communities safe.

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene® released a new informative video on August 6th.  The video was produced to explain to the public the important role played by Certified Industrial Hygienists in the workplace and beyond.

The new video is ABIH’s second production in the past several years.  In 2012, ABIH® produced a video that explained the value of CIH® certification to those in the industrial hygiene profession who are considering becoming certified.  The video cements the concept that once the CIH® credential is attained, it can lead to increased professional credibility, personal satisfaction and a competitive edge for job placement and advancement.

ABIH’s newest video is aimed at the general population.  In just under 2 minutes, the video discusses exposure concerns that people may face in the work environment or their home. It touches on noise levels and hearing loss, lung diseases, toxic substances, radiation, air quality, mold, asbestos, disaster response and other health and safety issues.

“We are pleased to release this new video that explains to the public the many ways that CIHs are working to prevent occupational exposure hazards and ways these dedicated professionals help to keep families and communities safe,” said Nicole Greeson, CIH®, ABIH® Chair. “The entire profession is enhanced when the public understands the many roles that industrial hygiene professionals play to protect people and the environment and what it means to have the CIH® credential. The new video can be found at the ABIH® website and it has been posted to YouTube.”
