Native American Venture Fund to speak at the Daily Fantasy Sports Expo in Miami Beach on August 6-7

New York, NY--Ticonderoga Ventures, Inc. announces that the Native American Venture Fund will speak at the Daily Fantasy Sports Expo ( www.dfse.net ) on August 6-7, 2015 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

John Cataldi and Don Fiechter of the Native American Venture Fund (NAVF) will present on “DFS Benefits Operating within Sovereign Indian Nations.” 

Native American Tribes have the right of Tribal sovereignty, which is defined in the United States as the inherent authority of indigenous tribes to govern themselves within the borders of the United States of America. In addition, the U.S. federal government recognizes tribal nations as “domestic dependent nations” and has established a number of laws attempting to clarify the relationship between the federal, state, and tribal governments. 

Out of the Indian Reorganization Act (IRA) came the Section 17 Corporation that gives Tribes the power to create a federally chartered corporations in order to facilitate business transactions and fosters tribal economic development. Unlike the tradition business corporations Section 17 corporations and “Like Tribal Corporations” are endowed with certain privileges such as: Sovereign immunity from lawsuits, No Federal or State Taxes, Non-adherence to state laws, immense tax credits, etc. 

Fiechter and Cataldi will present a brief overview on the process, potential profitability and avoiding the pitfalls in brining your organization to tribal lands.
