Lara commented: “400 cfs will be by far the best river flow we’ve had for tubing since 2010 because of drought... our section of the Guadalupe River has been closed due to recent heavy rainfall that caused major flooding and damage down river, and overfilled the Canyon Lake Reservoir by 17 feet, resulting in extremely high water release rates from Canyon Lake Dam.”

Jerry Lara with the Tube Haus (www.TubeHaus.com) is excited about the Guadalupe River reopening for river tubing and the upcoming 4th of July Holiday weekend. The GBRA (Guadalupe Blanco River Authority in Seguin, TX) just announced that river levels will be reduced from 3500 cfs (cubic feet per second) down to 400 cfs, for the 4th of July weekend beginning on Thursday, July 2nd through Sunday, July 5th. Lara commented: “400 cfs will be by far the best river flow we’ve had for tubing since 2010 because of drought... our section of the Guadalupe River has been closed due to recent heavy rainfall that caused major flooding and damage down river, and overfilled the Canyon Lake Reservoir by 17 feet, resulting in extremely high water release rates from Canyon Lake Dam.” Lara asked a follow-up question: “What will happen to river levels on July 6th going forward? " The GBRA did not have an answer and instructed Lara to call back before the 6th of July to check for updates.

River Outfitters along the Guadalupe River have experienced extreme drought conditions for the past 5 years where Canyon Lake Levels were about 16 feet below normal and daily river release rates averaged around 67 cfs as opposed to the excellent tubing flow of 400 cfs they are looking forward to for the upcoming 4th of July weekend. TubeHaus is located just outside of New Braunfels at 12454 FM306, in Canyon Lake, Texas 78133. Owner Jerry Lara, who specializes in tube rentals for “Guadalupe River Tubing” is encouraging everyone who is going tubing over the 4th of July weekend to make their plans now, as lodging, camping and RV sites will book up fast once the “word of mouth” gets out about the fantastic river levels. Lara highly recommends people to come out early, by 10:30am. “Early birds will get the best parking, avoid the crowds, get on the river faster, and enjoy more quality time on the river”. Hours of operation are from 9am to 7pm daily.
