Shanghai, China – WEBWIRE

Air Products Carbowet® GA Series Grind Aids Receive 2015 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards Air Products’ (NYSE: APD) Materials Technologies segment has recently won the 2015 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Coating Industry in China for its Carbowet GA-series grind aids. This is the fifth consecutive year Air Products as a global specialty additives leader for water-based formulations has received this prestigious recognition.

The award-winning Carbowet GA-series grind aids are designed for a variety of coatings and inks applications involving a time-consuming pigment milling process. Offering an ideal balance of both wetting and stabilizing characteristics for milling and dispersion performance, these surfactants can help formulators improve both the dispersion milling process efficiency and formulation performance. Functioning through dynamic wetting and a form of dynamic stabilization, these products are used to overcome deficiencies in the dispersant or grind resin and can improve hiding power, as well as providing higher gloss, greater color and faster color development. The Carbowet GA-series grind aids have superior performance in many dispersion formulations such as TiO2, inorganic pigments, organic pigments and carbon black, among others.

“We are honored to have again received this prestigious award in recognition of our continuous contributions to the growth of China’s coatings market through innovation and high performance solutions,’’ said Solomon Lemma, global general manager of Air Products Additives, who received the award on behalf of the company in Shanghai. “Carbowet GA-series grind aids are a great example of our long-standing commitment to developing new and innovative surfactant technology that helps formulators address ongoing formulating challenges. Going forward, we will continue to drive innovative and valuable solutions by leveraging over 40 years of experience in material science and surface chemistry, helping customers succeed in the fast growing coatings market.”

Organized by Ringier Trade Media since 2006, the Ringier Technology Innovation Awards is regarded as one of the most influential industry awards in China. It recognizes key contributors to industry advancements through technological innovation, efficiency improvements or creating a new marketing opportunity.

This year, 50 products for the coating industry from 39 companies entered for the awards. The independent panel of judges comprising experts from China’s authoritative associations, universities and research institutes eventually selected 24 innovative products across six categories: resins, pigments, additives, emulsions, machinery and equipments, and other innovative products/technologies. Air Products’ Carbowet GA-series grind aids were among the winning additives.
