After being subjected to cruel indifference and poverty, he grew up leading a life of drug and alcohol addiction.

Each family has a story to tell. But not all families have experienced horrible acts coming from their own flesh and blood. Unfortunately, George DeMoulas, along with his mother and other siblings, have gone through a lot of terrible things while he was still a young boy. And he’s willing to tell the story of his pain and suffering in the hands of his father in his book entitled, Illegit.

George is an illegitimate child of the eldest son of a wealthy family in New England. Together with his mother and other illegitimate siblings, he lived on public housing with no food, no education and no guidance. On top of that, they were ostracized in many levels by the family of his father.

After being subjected to cruel indifference and poverty, he grew up leading a life of drug and alcohol addiction. His vices nearly killed him but his deep commitment to seek justice against all odds saved his life. As he was living a sober and clean life, he prevailed against his father and his family under the jurisdiction of the law in order to claim his rightful name.

“I hope this book empowers people who experienced the same things as me. They should know that they have a voice; that they are not bits and pieces of what people say they are. They have to stand in their own authority and become the person they truly are”, said the author.

If you’re interested to know about the book as well as the author, then attend BookExpo America 2015. It will be held on May 27-29, 2015 at the Javits Center in New York City. Illegit, together with other materials from the author, will be displayed at the LitFire Publishing booth throughout the event.
