Logic PD Expert to Address the Convergence of Consumer and Medical Technology at Internet of Things MPLS Forum

Minneapolis – WEBWIRE

As the lines between consumer and medical technology continue to blur, consumer expectations of healthcare have dramatically changed. At the Internet of Things (IoT) MPLS Advanced Healthcare & Connected Medical Devices forum May 21, 2015 Logic PD executive Bill Betten will share his perspective on the topic.

As vice president of business solutions for medical and life sciences at Logic PD, Betten is on the front line of the convergence. In his presentation entitled, “Clash of Cultures: Consumer vs. Medical Technologies” Betten will address the increasing overlap between medical and consumer devices and how consumer technology is impacting and will continue to impact medical device development and how these different viewpoints influence product development.

“We’re on the verge of a fascinating time as the Internet of Things is bringing consumer-based technology to medical devices,” said Betten.  “While this intersection is exciting, it will also bring challenges that organizations will need to address to navigate the complexities and risks of connecting consumer and medical technologies.”

Joining in the topics discussion will be speakers from UnitedHealth Group and the Mayo Clinic as well as other significant consumer and medical technology innovators. Held at Keller Hall on the University of Minnesota’s Twin-Cities campus, the interactive and engaging discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. Details can be found at the IoT MPLS meetup website at www.meetup.com/iotmpls/events/213820022/
