California Parents Concerned about Health Issues at Child Care Facilities

Last month, the Santa Cruz Sentinel published a story about daycare centers, preschools and concerns over the possible spread of infections.  The article discussed low vaccination rates of young children in Santa Clara County and across California and how this could result in health issues along with the spread of infections.
 
In addition to issues associated with parents vaccinating their children, another area of concern for many parents is the indoor air quality (IAQ) of their child care centers.  These facilities can often develop problems with indoor air quality because there are typically many children in a relatively small space.  In addition, sometimes there may not be the funds to properly maintain the building and often people may not understand the importance of healthy indoor air quality.
