Marijuana Games Company Releases 9th Title, Mighty Mites
We’re going to release at least 4 new video games this year, and there’s talk of developing a game for traditional systems like Xbox or Playstation
While the name of the company is meant to be a play on words, MarijuanaGames.org stuck to the literal interpretation of its name this week when it released its 9th online marijuana video game, Mighty Mites. Produced after just 2 months in development, the game’s creator says that 2015 is going to be the company’s breakout year;
“We’re going to release at least 4 new video games this year, and there’s talk of developing a game for traditional systems like Xbox or Playstation,” said Russ Hudson, editor for the MarijuanaGames website.
In the Mighty Mites video game, players are tasked with defending marijuana plants from attacking armies of genetically engineered super mites. Players must pilot a chemically armed “nano-ship” in order to win the day.
Like the 8 other weed-themed video games the site has developed, Mighty Mites is based on Flash, which puts some users at a disadvantage, as most mobile devices do not support Flash. However, according to Hudson, this is a problem the company is planning to alleviate soon.
“We’re in the process of converting our games to a more mobile-friendly format including Unity and the creation of games as apps. Some of these could be available in apps stores or Google Play before the end of the year,” said Hudson.
In the meantime, all of the games on Hudson’s site are free to play, do not require a download and interestingly, do not solicit an email address. All 9 of the company’s games can be found here: http://marijuanagames.org/marijuana-games/
