Kristina MacBury’s “Principal Pro” - Free to Download Tomorrow (03/16/2015)
Kristina MacBury’s new book, “Principal Pro: An Authentic Leadership Playbook for Managing Crisis, Building Teams, and Maximizing Resources” will be available for free download in the Amazon Kindle Store on March 16th.
“Principal Pro” is not your typical book on leadership. It is a collection of real life case studies from the author’s administrative tenure in urban education. MacBury’s actual experiences are essential in helping the readers learn and understand what it takes to become a leader. She outlines specific principals to help readers take on a leadership role in their field, especially when it comes to schools and education.
MacBury deliberately and strategically selects events to share using the power of real storytelling (interjected with appropriate humor) to illustrate likely scenarios most programs do not prepare today’s leaders to face. The “Principal Pro” also provides tips after each case study (event) to pull out lessons learned and tips for the seasoned and neophyte administrators alike to consider and learn from 20/20 hindsight.
“Principal Pro” by Kristina MacBury will be free and available for download on Amazon for 5 days (03/16/2015 – 03/20/2015) at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TOZ9TP4/.
“Principal Pro”has a 4.9 star rating on Amazon.com. Here’s what some people are saying:
“In these past several years of intensity around the need to dramatically reform our public schools, we have paid little attention to one of the most powerful levers of change--school leaders. Kris MacBury’s book documents keen insights into the challenges of-and avenues to-strong and effective school leadership. A must read!” – Dr. Joseph Wise, Co-Founder & CEO, Atlantic Research Partners
“This book is a great guide for anyone who is new to leadership. The book begins with an assessment that can be used to determine at which level of leadership you are currently performing. It includes questions for yourself and others to answer about your leadership skills. It will provide you with a big picture of leadership and a path for moving up the steps. Be aware that leadership is a very complex topic so no one single tome will provide you with all the knowledge to be a great leader. This book sets the stage by providing a general understanding of the steps, but you will need to use other resources to help move you through. The information and knowledge in here is priceless. The content was mostly new material laid out in a simple way. Depending on how you apply it to your life it has the potential to change your life and those around you dramatically.” –Alicia Mendoza Green

About The Author:
Kris began her career in education eighteen years ago when she served as a Biology teacher in the School District of Philadelphia’s, Martin Luther King High School. Seven years later, under a major re-organization, she was asked to take on the leadership role of 9th Grade House Principal. Kris’ ability to build a strong team and followership was recognized by district leadership and community organizations. As such, the School District of Philadelphia, partnering with an external management organization, asked Kris to step-in and become MLKing’s youngest female principal to run an urban high school in Philadelphia.
Kris is a graduate of St. Francis University where she was a Pre-Med major and earned her degree in Secondary Education. In 2006, Kris was recognized by St. Francis University as a “Distinguished Young Alumna of the Year” for her work in Urban Education Reform. Kris earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Cheyney University.
