TestAmerica to Present on Radium Analysis at the WM2015 Conference

The annual Waste Management (WM) Conference is widely regarded as the premier international conference for the management of radioactive material and related topics. The conference is held on March 15-19, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Terry Romanko, Technical Director and Radiochemistry expert, will present on key methodologies in determining prevalent radium isotopes. The presentation will be held on Thursday, March 19. Under the technical session, 134 LLW/ILW Waste Characterization - Gamma Assay Topics, Mr. Romanko will identify various methods, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each methodology to assist in determining the most appropriate application. The utilization of a method is mainly driven by turnaround time, detection limit goals, and the importance of isotopic abundance to help determine disposal, clean-up, and treatment.

Terry Romanko has over 25 years of experience in quality, research, development, and production within the radiochemical field. His background includes work in the environmental, radiochemical, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries, including a focus in Operations/Production, Product Development, Quality Control, and Radiation Safety. Mr. Romanko earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
