Specialized Workshops for Cross Country Coaches at Nike Running Camps

Running concurrently with the Nike Green Mountain and the Nike Smoky Mountain Running Camps, the Nike Coaches Workshops offer coaches the tools to individualize workouts by tying together pace, pulse and perceived exertion. The curriculum is based on Coach Roy Benson’s book, “’The Secret Workouts,’ Coachly Wisdom about Effort Based Training.”  

Designed for both beginning and even veteran coaches, looking for a more scientific approach to coaching your cross country teams. The Workshops offer information for the design of training plans and workouts for all phases of training, it also assists with the organization and administration of cross country programs from the middle school to college levels. Coaches are invited to attend Camp with their teams, to run daily with the camp on the forest trails and to listen to the daily featured guest speakers.    

 At the NIKE Running Camps, the goals are to stimulate a love for running and to aid runners in becoming better, faster and smarter athletes.  They provide an educational and inspirational experience for youth runners, all skill levels and abilities. 

• The Green Mountain Running Camp, at its new location at the prestigious Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, New Hampshire, celebrates 41 years this summer. 
• The Smoky Mountain Running Camp operating on the campus of UNC Asheville, North Carolina, proudly has educated and trained runners for 43 years.

The mission of the Nike Running Camps is to educate and entertain the campers to become smarter runners.  During all of the camp sessions, campers live the life of a collegiate athlete while staying in the dorms and training on the beautiful nearby trails.
