Cubic Named 2015 STEM Jobs Approved Employer
Cubic recognized for creating and filling high-demand, high-growth science, technology, engineering, and mathematic occupations
Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) announced it has been designated a 2015 STEM JobsSM Approved Employer by Victory Media, a leader in connecting professionals in transition with education and career opportunities, and creator of STEM JobsSM media, education and career resources for students interested in science, technology, engineering and math. The 2015 STEM JobsSM Approved Employers inaugural list is the first of its kind to rate companies on their responsiveness to creating and filling high-demand, high-growth STEM occupations.
Companies submitting completed surveys were scored on publicly available data and responses to proprietary questions around indicators of success, including STEM job hiring and career path opportunities, workforce diversity in STEM positions and outreach to and alignment with STEM education programs. The assessment and rights to the STEM Jobs ApprovedSM Employers designation were available to qualifying companies for free. Cubic will be featured in the winter 2015 issue of STEM JobsSM magazine, along with the entire 2015 list of STEM JobsSM Approved Employers, available this month.
“Cubic is honored to be recognized as a STEM JobsSM Approved Employer,” said Bradley H. Feldmann, president and chief executive officer of Cubic. “STEM education is vital to our future, and Cubic is committed to investing in and inspiring the STEM leaders of tomorrow so that our industry will continue to thrive and grow.”
“With the list of STEM JobsSM Approved Employers, we’re able to help parents, students, educators and employers evaluate how well education is translating into real-world jobs, and how responsive companies are meeting those demands,” said Daniel Nichols, president of STEM JobsSM. “We’re pleased to showcase companies like Cubic as leading the way on the employment side and providing long-term STEM career opportunities.”
Cubic’s ongoing commitment to STEM education includes the Cubic Intern Workshop Series, which offers high school students career training and mentoring.
