AT&T Group President Ray Wilkins Selected as One of "Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America" by Black Professionals Magazine

San Antonio, Texas, September 1, 2006 - Black Professionals magazine has named Ray Wilkins, Group President at AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), as one of the “Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America” in recognition of his dedication to his work and commitment to his community.

Black Professionals magazine honors corporate Black executives who “lead by example” and are exemplary role models for the future leaders of corporate America by displaying a winning business presence and exceptional community service. Wilkins and his accomplishments will be featured in the fall 2006 issue of the magazine.

Wilkins is responsible for oversight of AT&T’s international investments, Sterling Commerce, AT&T Yellow Pages and diversified businesses, including operator services and public coin phones. Each of these operations is a competitive differentiator for the new AT&T. Additionally, AT&T Yellow Pages is the nation’s largest directory publisher in terms of revenue, with more than 700 Yellow Pages titles that are referenced more than 3 billion times annually. Through its YELLOWPAGES.COM joint venture, it operates a leading Internet Yellow Pages network that is projected to handle a billion local searches in 2006.

Wilkins is chairman of the board of Cingular Wireless and a member of the boards of H&R Block, Teléfonos de México, América Móvil, The Tiger Woods Learning Center, the Tiger Woods Foundation, the Advisory Council of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas-Austin, and AT&T Yellow Pages.

Wilkins has received numerous honors and recognitions for his contributions over the course of his 32-year career at AT&T. In 2006, he was recognized as one of the “100 Most Important Blacks in Technology” by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine. In 2005, he was named one of the “75 Most Powerful African Americans in Corporate America” by Black Enterprise Magazine. In 2002, he was named by Fortune magazine as one of the nation’s “50 Most Powerful Black Executives” and was honored as a “distinguished alumnus” of the Waco Independent School District in 2000.

Wilkins earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas-Austin and attended the University of Pittsburgh’s Management Program for Executives. Born in Waco, Texas, Wilkins and his wife, Lorena, have a married son and two grandchildren.
