Poll of Top 10 Love Letters of All Time Confirms Men Are More Romantic Than Women and Want to "Be Her Hero" When It Comes to Expressing Love In Written Form
"It is a well-known fact that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but it is a little-known secret that the way to a woman’s heart is through a well-crafted love letter."
Baltimore, Maryland, USA – A heartfelt birthday message from Johnny Cash to his beloved wife June has been voted the greatest love letter of all time.
The simple, but plainly expressed missive in which the singer dubbed the Man In Black writes “you’re the object of my desire, the #1 Earthly reason for my existence,” has topped a list of passionate penmanship.
The poll to discover our favorite romantic message was commissioned by British life insurance company Beagle Street to encourage Brits to be more romantic on February 14.
In the battle of the sexes, it was men who came out on top in the romance stakes with nearly one in four (24 percent) saying they have sent a love letter within the last year.
Thirty- eight percent of women admitted that they have never written a love letter.
With the recent articles on Google during the Valentine’s season featuring lost love letters from World War II being found, and an article about a man writing love letters to his wife every day for 40 years, more men are searching for help to express their romantic side in written form.
“It is a well-known fact that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but it is a little- known secret that the way to a woman’s heart is through a well- crafted love letter”, says Cherie Turlington. She is the founder of a subscription coaching program “Be Her Hero” that teaches men to write inspiring love letters all year long that will become heirloom keepsakes for the lady they love, and make them the “Hero of their own Home.”
Cherie believes men are more romantic than women and want to make their woman happy, but usually express their feelings by working hard to provide for their family, protecting their woman and trying to solve her problems. These are greatly appreciated but do not reach her heart on a deeply intimate level. Cherie teaches men how to write by using “the language of love” that every woman wants to read to remind her of the feelings that made her fall in love with him in the first place.
